“The Longue Durée” series went on public display for the first time from June – September 2018 at Yantai Art Gallery, Shandong Province, then toured to the Tai’an Art Museum, Tai’an The Suochengli Library and The Weihai Art Museum, China.

Of the series Robert says “I wanted to remove myself from conceptual thinking for a period and spend time reflecting on one of the core foundations of art – returning to drawing the single human figure on a single sheet of paper. And was inspired in this by what R. B. Kitaj had written in his exhibition catalogue for The Human Clay, that “I was looking mostly for pictures of the single human form as if they could be breathed on, whereupon they would glow like beacons of where art has been and like agents of a newer life to come.”
